The Anthropik Podcast, Season Two
by Jason GodeskyWe’re back! And we’re using a new format. This short note is merely to lay out the changes that we’re making in season two.
- It’s a SkypeCast now! We’ll be conducting our interviews live on Skype now, so you can join in. See “Getting Started with SkypeCasts” for more information.
- You can simply listen to the conversation going on live, or you can put in to ask a question of your own, like a live call-in radio show. So that you know when to listen and some background on our guest and topic, we’ll be posting show notes before the interview is recorded. This will include background reading if you’d like to read up on the topic beforehand, and a schedule for when the interview will take place.
- Schedule The polished, edited podcast episode will include the interview as well as your email, Odeo and voice mail messages. The show notes posted before the interview will include a schedule listing:
- When the SkypeCast interview will take place
- When the full podcast episode will be released (generally one week later)
- Every other week So if you subscribe to our podcast feed, you can expect a new Anthropik Podcast episode once every two weeks. In the intervening weeks, we’ll have live SkypeCast interviews with guests.
- Guests lined up Our first guest will be Michael Winkelman, but we’ve also lined up interviews with David Abram and Joseph Tainter, so stay tuned!

Wow, Abram and Tainter, not bad! I only just got round to getting through all the first series of podcasts and I was really impressed. I think Manning was my favourite, he was so bang on. Jeff Vail sounded nothing like I thought he would. Heinberg seemed a bit weary, but Greer was spot on and seems like a really great guy.
Still got a few others to go. Great work guys!

Hey Jason and Anthropik,
Definitely exciting and great to hear that it’s up and going.
Dan,
Totally agreed that Manning and Greer were on point. I also thought Michael Green (Afterculture, Episode 2) was awesome.

Looking forward to it!

Can’t wait for Tainter! (How about getting William Catton, too?)
Naive question: Where can I listen to the earlier interviews? Both Manning (loved Against the Grain) and Greer (The Archdruid Report is fabulous) are superb.

Hi, I’ve just found your podcast on iTunes of 5 episodes is it possible to get all past episodes and start receiving future ones through iTunes?

Will the “SkypeCasts” be archived for download and playback later? If not, then it’s not exactly a podcast, is it?
I’d very much like to be able to download an mp3 of the David Abram interview once it has taken place.
You can make mp3 recordings of Skype calls using a free program called Solicall. There are other ways to record Skype calls, but that’s the one I know works and costs nothing.

I do hope your interviews don’t evaporate into the ether the second they take place.

Unfortunately, season two never really happened. See this announcement for what’s happened with the podcast.
